Since the appointment of the hospital's first cardiologist in 1926, services have developed and expanded to meet demand and to keep up with advances in the understanding of cardiac disease, new methods of investigation, and the availability of new approaches to therapy.
The Cardiology Department of today could not have been imagined by Fred Bowerbank when he moved into what was a tiny facility.
