Katherine was House Surgeon at Christchurch Hospital before heading to the UK, where she held posts at The Royal Free Hospital in London, and then in Hemel Hempstead.
On return to NZ, Katherine was Medical Registrar at Hutt Hospital, 1997-98 and then at Wellington Hospital in 1998. She was Geriatrics Registrar at Hutt Hospital 1998-99 before commencing advanced training in Cardiology at Wellington Hospital. Katherine completed her advanced training in 2005.
Katherine then spent one year at Auckland Hospital completing a Cardiac Radiology Fellowship. An interest in cardiac MRI was the focus of this Fellowship, and Katherine subsequently set up a cardiac MRI service at Hutt and then Wellington Hospitals.
She was appointed Cardiologist at Hutt Hospital in 2006 and is concurrently Cardiologist, Wellington Hospital (p/t).
Katherine has a special interest in the imaging of congenital heart disease, and in the pathophysiology and management of heart failure.
