Educated at Otago Boys' High School HS, Wellington Hospital 1911 - 1913 Acting Medical Superintendent Wellington Hospital 1913 Went to England in 1913 to study for the FRCS, but when WW1 started, he joined the RAMC and served in France with distinction. Medical Superintendent, Wellington Hospital 1919 - 1921 He began a new career in farming at the beginning of 1922.
