Educated at Wanganui Collegiate and Wellington College

Initially studied law at Victoria University College, but did not complete the LLB

HS, Wellington Hospital 1919

He was living in Auckland in the early 1920s

Practised in Tauranga 1922 - 1925, before moving back to Wellington in 1925

Honorary Physician, Wellington Hospital 1926 - 1933

Worked as ship's doctor on the RMS Maunganui, on the San Fransisco run 1933

In 1935, moved to Leeston, where he remained in private (Lodge) practice for the next 24 years.
