Educated at Nelson College General Practitioner and Anaesthetist of Wellington Visiting Anaesthetist, Wellington Hospital 1928 - 1961 From 1938, undertook gastroscopies at the hospital, for which he received £2/2/- per examination During WW2, was CO 6th NZ Field Ambulance in the desert. Captured, and spent 1 year as a POW in Italy, 1941 - 1942. After his release, he was made DGMS 3rd NZ Division.
