Educated at Wellington College After leaving school, he worked in the Public Commissioner's Office and commenced a science degree at Victoria University. Joined the NZMC in 1941, serving in Egypt and Italy. Early post-war, he served with the J Force in Japan. Returned to university in 1947 and completed his BSc in 1948 HS / HP, Wellington Hospital 1955 - 1956 Entered general practice in Island Bay in 1957 Senior Registrar, National Women's Hospital, Auckland 1963 - 1964 Travelled to London in 1965 to gain the MRCOG Specialist O&G Tutor, Wellington Hospital 1967 - 1968 Visiting Specialist Obstetrician, St Helen's Hospital 1969 - Member of the Wellington Hospital Board 1968 - 1983, being Chairman from 1971 - 1983 Chairman of Council, Wellington Clinical School of Medicine 1981 - 1986 photograph courtesy Wellington Hospital photographic archive |
