HP / HS, Wellington Hospital 1989 - 1990 Nigel was Cardiology Registrar at Wellington Hospital in 1992 and again in 1997 - 1998. He then proceeded to England where he was Fellow in Cardiology at the University of Oxford and at the Radcliffe Infirmary, from 1998 - 2001. In early 2001, Nigel returned to Wellington to take up the position of Cardiologist, Wellington Hospital. He was responsible for pacing services and was the first to implant a defibrillator in Wellington. He did diagnostic electrophysiology studies from October 2001 and in 2003, established an interventional electrophysiology service at the hospital. Nigel resigned in 2006 to move to Auckland. He is currently Electrophysiologist and Cardiologist at Auckland City Hospital, primarily dealing with cardiac rhythm issues. Nigel is Senior Lecturer at Auckland University and is working with the Bioengineering Institute in the field of ventricular fibrillation and other rhythm research. |
