Trained at the Middlesex Hospital Medical School.

Commenced traaining in radiation oncology at Wellington Hospital in 1978

On becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in 1982, he was awarded the Rohan Williams Medal.

Consultant Radiation Oncologist, Wellington Hospital 1984 - 2016.  

Head of Oncology 1987 - 1990

Head of Radiation Services 1994 - 2016

Founding Chair of the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group, 1989.  

Strong interest and expertise in clinical research.

Professor, Wellington School of Medicine.

Member of the Mary Potter Hospice Foundation Board.

Member of the Cancer Society of New Zealand for more than 20 years, including a term as Vice-President.
