Herbert Rawson

Came to NZ with his family as a small boy, settling in New Plymouth

He was a pupil in dentistry of his brother, Henry Rawson, and subsequently took over his practice in Woodward Street, Wellington, until retirement in 1925

It is said that he was the first to use nitrous oxide for pain relief in 1874

First President of the NZ Dental Association
