Capital & Coast DHB is encouraging pregnant women to get vaccinated against the flu if they have not already done so.
The DHB is seeing a number of expectant mothers being admitted due to the flu.
A flu vaccination can be administered at any stage of pregnancy, and has no effect on the baby. Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs) can provide advice on how to access free vaccinations.
