From Sunday 22 March to Wednesday 25 March, Mein Street will be closed from 6pm to 5am to enable the street to be resurfaced. These works are weather dependent, and may take longer than planned.
During these times there will be no parking along Mein Street while the crews are working, and it will be closed to through traffic – however Fulton Hogan will ensure access for ambulances remains in place.
A detour route will be signposted around the work site, pedestrians will still have full access at all times, and the loudest works– such as jack-hammering and rotomilling – will be completed by 11pm.
Any vehicles parked in the way of the works will be towed to a suitable park nearby. Anyone who finds their vehicle is not where they parked it should first check nearby streets before calling the Wellington City Council Contact Centre: (04) 499 4444.
