The Maternity and Neonatal System Plan articulates a whole of system approach to improving maternal and neonatal care for all families in our region, with a pro-equity focus to improve outcomes for Māori and Pacific whānau and families, disabled women and babies with impairments.
Our Plan focuses on taking action to create change and includes over 60 actions that have been developed in partnership with the community including mums, and clinicians. The actions reflects what they believe will make a meaningful change for all women and families having babies across our region.
We would like to thank our project team, advisory group and maternity stakeholders for their mahi, insights, and engagement to help us create a substantial Plan to support our hapū māmā, pēpi, tamariki and whānau.
As we work towards a future system, we remain focused on providing excellent care to mothers, babies and whānau as well as enhancements to our current services.
