New Zealand to move to COVID-19 traffic light Red

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has today announced that all of New Zealand will move into the Red light COVID-19 setting at 11.59pm tonight (Sunday 23 January 2022).

As we do not have widespread community transmission in our region, there will be no change to Hutt Valley and Capital & Coast DHBs’ services or visitor policy at this time. We continue to monitor the situation closely, and have the ability to extend testing hours or increase testing capacity in the community if required.
