A unique new ward has opened recently at Wellington Regional Hospital. The decant ward, made up of eight 50 sqm containers was craned onto the roof of the main building over a number of cold winter nights.
Since then, the team has been hard at work fitting the ward out, to ensure it's ready for the arrival of its first patients.
The 12-bed ward is in place to accommodate patients while noisy work is being done to replace the copper pipes through the main building.
