In this section, you'll find information about Capital & Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) community health and dental services available for children and young people in the region through us and other providers.
Free sore throat clinics
Untreated sore throats can lead to rheumatic fever and heart damage. If you’re in Porirua, and your child is Māori or Pacific, aged 4 to 19 years and has a sore throat, they can have it checked at a free sore throat clinic. Call Healthline 0800 611 116 any time to speak to a registered health professional and find a clinic.
Immunisation
Immunisation is an important way of preventing infectious diseases throughout a person's life.
You can read more about immunisation on the Ministry of Health's website, and view the national immunisation schedule.
